Frequently-requested non-English topics:

  • US History and APUSH (AP US History)

Dr. K has BA in history and her research area for her PhD was American-history focused. She has guided many students through preparation for their APUSH exam and helped US History and APUSH students alike with their history class’s content and preparation for writing-heavy assignments.

General content review, DBQ and LEQ practice, and other essay assistance are all available.

  • Time Management

While working at Saint Louis University, Dr. K offered many workshops and retreats for faculty and students on the topic of effective time management. Many of her clients are neurodivergent students who greatly benefit from having a non-parent, professional adult acting as an accountability partner. Teens, in particular, flourish best when they see that adult authority figures are genuinely invested in their progress. To help them meet their goals, Dr. K develops individual learning plans for each of her students and helps them find the time management methods that work best for their personality and lifestyle.

  • College Application Help

The personal essay can often feel like the most difficult part of applying to college. Whether your child is completely stuck or you just want to give them an edge in the application process, I am happy to help them craft and hone their personal essay into something truly attention-grabbing. I also offer help with other parts of the college application process, such as understanding the Common App or writing assistance with short-answer essay questions.

Below are some of the novels Dr. K is requested to teach most frequently. Dr. K works on subjects far beyond what is listed here, but consider requesting lessons on the novels below for extra curricular reading and writing practice.
